At the Derm-Al Cedntre, we offer nose and sinus irrigation with the Proetz method.
It is an innovative treatment that has replaced the sinus puncture, where a needle is used to remove pus and mucus, which is usually very painful. The Proetz nose and sinus irrigation method is a simple and practical technique of rinsing all the paranasal sinuses with physiological salt solution, a mucous membrane constricting medication and an antibiotic. Nose and sinus irrigation helps remove the secretion produced by the sinuses, catarrh, mucus, inflammation as well as blood and other residue after surgeries, and dirt (pollen, dust, etc.). The treatment also helps reduce swelling of the mucous membrane, clear the respiratory channels and remove bacteria and infected secretion, and soothes allergy symptoms.
How does the treatment work The patient lies in a special position (on the back, head tilted back). The physician uses a Janeta syringe to apply the liquid medication through the nasal cavity and sinuses, and the liquid is pumped out using a medical aspirator. The Proetz treatment takes a few minutes and is painless.
