Skin lesion removal and plasty
- Description of the treatment
-
At the Derm-Al Centre, we remove skin lesions using various methods, depending on recommendations (cryosurgery, electrocoagulation, radiosurgery, laser surgery, traditional surgery). Lesions that require stitches or local or patch plasty are surgically removed by the plastic surgeon.
The plastic surgeon operates on deep and large lesions the removal of which leaves a big cavity or which are hard to access. A scar will develop, but, by applying the right technology, it is possible to make it practically invisible. For this purpose, cuts are made in natural skin folds, along the Langer lines and cavities are refilled with tissue, according to the art of aesthetic surgery, or skin transplant is performed. Skin transplant may be performed if the cavity is larger than 1 cm. In this case, skin is transplanted from behind the concha, medial part of the arm or groin.
At the Derm-Al Centre, skin lesion removal is performed by plastic surgeon in local anaesthesia. After removal, each lesion is histopathologically diagnosed.
