Torn earlobe repair
- Description of the treatment
-
At the Derm-Al Centre, we offer reconstruction of earlobes stretched or torn by pulling an earring of wearing heavy or tunnel earrings.
The treatment is performed in local anaesthesia and involves stitching together the torn parts of the earlobe and remodelling the ear by applying the right stitching techniques. In some cases, auto fat injection may be required. After the surgery, anti-swell and haemostatic compression bandage is applied and must be worn for as long as the doctor instructs. After 1-2 days, the wound should be redressed and the stitches are removed after 7 days.
The treatment takes about one hour. After the treatment , the patient may return home.
For the first few days after the treatment, the area is swollen and red, and it may also be painful and stingy, and a tension may be felt. The effect is durable, unless the earlobe is once again torn or stretched mechanically.
